Li-doping tungsten oxide electrochromic film is a dingal material, more specifically, an inorganic electrochromic material, for applying in building glass to obtain heat insulation glass with high transparency. It is reported that some experts have used a sol-gel method to prepare a lithium-doped tungsten trioxide film, in which a LiCF3SO3 solution is added to the precursor solution. And they found that:

The transmittance modulation range of the tungsten trioxide film doped with 5mol% lithium increases from 55% (bleached state) to 42% (colored state) before doping to 85% (bleached state) to 25% (colored state) after doping. The degree of discoloration after doping is significantly increased. This is because the addition of Li makes the tungsten trioxide film structure more open, and produces stable Li-O chemical bonds after doping, which accelerates the migration of electrons and ions in the film, improving the film discoloration amplitude, reversibility, and cycle stability.
