Tungsten oxide based electrochromic film has been the focus of research by scientists in recent years due to its own excellent optical properties of shielding heat (infrared light) and UV (ultraviolet light). And the smart window prepared using tungsten trioxide electrochromic thin film as an EC layer material can play the role of heat insulation, heat preservation and energy conservation. So, smart window and tungsten trioxide are more and more well known to many people. Wherein, regarding the optical properties of electrochromic materials, experts introduced:

The optical properties of electrochromic materials are related to the amount of charge injected. When the injected charge Q (C/cm2) is small, its optical density is proportional to the injected charge density Q:
Lg[1/T(λ)]=CE(λ)×Q
Where CE(λ) is the electrochromic efficiency, and the unit is cm2/C. Different materials have different CE(λ) values. Thus, the optical property change of the electrochromic material can be controlled by injecting an appropriate amount of charge.
